Visitor guide and practical details
This venue information is provided to help you plan. Operating arrangements, admission, individual pool availability and temporary closures can change. Verify current details with the facility operator before travelling.
Opening hours
Sport Singapore lists the complex as open from 8am to 9.30pm every day except Thursday. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the competition pool also opens from 6.30am to 8am. The complex is closed every Thursday for weekly maintenance, except when Thursday is a public holiday, when the listed hours are 8am to 9.30pm.
Temporary closures can override these regular hours, so check the official facility page before travelling.
Admission and pools
Bishan is listed as a normal ActiveSG swimming complex rather than a feature-pool complex. Sport Singapore lists one competition pool, one teaching pool and one wading pool. Check the current ActiveSG facility rates before visiting; pool admission is separate from Swim2u coaching fees unless a confirmed booking says otherwise.
Address and directions
The official address is 1 Bishan Street 14, Singapore 579778, and ActiveSG lists the facility phone as 6352 6631. Use the map and directions link on the official facility page to plan the final part of the journey, and allow time for admission and changing before the agreed lesson time.
Pool rules, weather and safety
Follow the facility's admission, safety, security and general-use rules. Sport Singapore notes that outdoor facilities may close during inclement weather and links visitors to the NEA weather nowcast. Check both the official Bishan facility page and the NEA weather nowcast before an outdoor lesson.
If Bishan is closed
Do not assume a lesson moves automatically when the complex is closed. Confirm the replacement venue and time with Swim2u first. Nearby public-pool guides on this site include ActiveSG Sport Park @ Teck Ghee, Serangoon and Toa Payoh; verify that the selected facility is operating and suitable before travelling.
Check the official facility information
Before travelling, confirm current opening arrangements, closures and entry information on the official ActiveSG or Sport Singapore facility source. Lesson and coach availability is separate from public-pool opening information.
Swimming courses at Bishan Swimming Complex
Course availability at Bishan Swimming Complex depends on the learner, course format, coach schedule and permitted pool use. Confirmation is required before registration. The Bishan swimming course guide gives a local overview before you compare formats below.
Choose a course by goal
Someone starting from zero needs a different sequence from a swimmer correcting one stroke. Parents may prioritise water safety and SwimSafer preparation, while adults may focus on confidence, breathing or fitness. Choose the course after an honest assessment of present ability.
The swimming course comparison explains the available pathways. Review course fees and remember that facility admission may be charged separately.
Planning a course block
- Confirm the learner’s starting level and measurable goal.
- Choose private, pair or group learning based on support needs and budget.
- Select days the learner can attend consistently.
- Allow for weather, maintenance closures and public-pool rules.
- Ask how progress will be reviewed before booking another block.
Ask Swim2u about course availability, including this venue and any nearby alternatives you can reach.
