Swimming Course Fees in Singapore
What a swimming course really costs depends on four things: the learner's age, lesson length, group size and how many lessons are needed. Here are Swim2u's published rates and a simple way to budget.
Swim2u course fees (per 4 lessons)
| Programme | Lesson length | 1-to-1 | Group of 2 (per person) | Group of 3+ (per person) |

| Toddler (age 4 and below) | 30 min | $280 | $190 | $140 |
| Kids (age 12 and below) | 45 min | $280 | $190 | $140 |
| Adult (above 12) | 45 min | $320 | $200 | $160 |
| Ladies, female instructor (above 12) | 45 min | $360 | $220 | $180 |

| Special needs | 30 min | $320 | $220 | n/a |
Per-lesson cost at a glance
Dividing each package by four makes comparison easier:
- Kids, group of 3+: $35 per lesson per child.
- Kids, 1-to-1: $70 per lesson.
- Adult, group of 3+: $40 per lesson per person.
- Adult, 1-to-1: $80 per lesson.
- Ladies, 1-to-1 with a female instructor: $90 per lesson.
What drives the price
Group size
The biggest factor. A group of 3 or more costs about half of 1-to-1 per person. Whether that is better value depends on how quickly the learner progresses in each format, which is covered in private vs group swimming lessons.
Age and lesson length
Baby, toddler and special needs lessons are 30 minutes; kids, adult and ladies lessons are 45 minutes. Baby lessons cost more than toddler lessons because of the closer handling involved.
Instructor requirements
The ladies course is priced higher because it guarantees a female instructor.
Number of lessons
The package price is only half of the budget. The other half is how many packages the learner will need. See how many swimming lessons do I need.
Costs to ask about
- Pool entry. Public pools charge an entry fee. Ask whether it is included or paid separately.
- Venue. Condo and private venues can have their own rules and charges.
- Cancellations and weather. Understand what happens if a lesson is stopped for lightning or missed through illness. Swim2u's terms and conditions set this out.
- Equipment. Goggles and a swim cap are usually your own.
A simple budgeting example
An adult who cannot swim, learning in a group of 3, might plan for three packages to reach comfortable breaststroke: 3 × $160 = $480. Learning 1-to-1, the same adult might need two packages instead of three: 2 × $320 = $640. These are illustrations, not promises. Starting ability and fear change the numbers more than anything else.
How to keep the cost down without slowing progress
- Learn as a pair with a friend, partner or sibling at a similar level.
- Attend regularly. Long gaps mean paying to re-learn.
- Start 1-to-1 if fear is the problem, then switch to a group once comfortable.
- Practise the specific drills your coach gives you, safely, between lessons.
