About SwimmingCourse.sg
A practical guide to choosing a swimming course in Singapore, written by the team at Swim2u Swim School.
Who runs SwimmingCourse.sg
SwimmingCourse.sg is operated by Swim2u Swim School, a Singapore swim school. Swim2u teaches babies, toddlers, children, adults, ladies and learners with special needs at public swimming complexes, private venues and condominium pools across Singapore.
This site focuses on the course side of learning to swim: what each course covers, how learners progress and how to choose a sensible starting point. For booking-focused information, visit the main Swim2u website.
Swim2u received the Singapore SME 500 Award and the Entrepreneur 100 Award from ATC SG in 2022. Swim2u also runs instructor training through swimminginstructorcourse.sg, and SwimSafer details are on the Swim2u SwimSafer 2.0 page.
What Swim2u's accreditations mean
Swim2u lists four recognitions from swimming and water-safety organisations. Here is what each body is, so you can check them yourself on their official websites.
SSI Swim Center (Swim Schools International)
Swim2u is a Swim Schools International (SSI) Swim Center. SSI runs learn-to-swim levels and swim teacher certification, and Swim2u is listed as a Swim Center in SSI's official centre locator.
AUSTSWIM certified swim centre
Swim2u is an AUSTSWIM certified swim centre. AUSTSWIM is Australia's national organisation for swimming and water safety teacher education, established in 1979, and its teacher courses are delivered in Australia and overseas.
Autism Swim approved provider
Swim2u is an Autism Swim approved provider. Autism Swim is a Sydney-based organisation that provides education and certification in neurodiversity and aquatics. Swim2u appears in its provider directory.
ISSA accredited swim school
Swim2u is an ISSA accredited swim school. The International Swim Schools Association (ISSA) runs a swim school accreditation programme that looks at teaching standards, risk management, customer service and continuous improvement.
How lessons are taught
- Structured progression. Learners work through skills in order, from water confidence and floating to kicking, breathing and strokes, rather than jumping straight to a full stroke.
- Packages of 4 lessons. Lessons are booked in packages of 4, and progress is reviewed after each package so the next step suits the learner.
- 1-to-1, pair or group. Learners can take lessons 1-to-1, as a pair or in a small group. See private vs group swimming lessons for how to choose.
- Flexible venues. Lessons take place at public swimming complexes, private venues and condominium pools. They are not held at the Swim2u office.
- Female instructors for ladies. The ladies swimming course is taught by female instructors.
- Adapted lessons for special needs. Special needs lessons run for 30 minutes and are adapted to the learner. See the special needs swimming course.
Coach qualifications
Swim2u states on its about page that all its coaches are certified to teach swimming, with coaching licences under bodies such as NROC, STA, AUSTSWIM, ASCA, ASCTA and SSI. If a particular qualification matters to you, ask which one the coach assigned to your lessons holds.
Current fees for each course are on the swimming course fees page. New to lessons? Read what to expect at your first swimming lesson.
How we write and check content
The guides are written by Alvin, an SSI Swimming Instructor Trainer with more than 10 years of experience teaching swimming. The full editorial policy explains how we research, check and correct our pages. In short:
- Fees are taken from swim2u.sg/pricing and shown with the date they were checked. Pool entry fees may apply separately.
- Pool information is checked against the official ActiveSG facility listing. Opening hours and closures can change, so please confirm before you go.
- External sources such as health and water-safety organisations are cited and linked on our guides.
- No invented claims. We do not publish made-up statistics, reviews, testimonials or awards.
- Review dates. Each page shows the date it was last reviewed by the Swim2u team.
- Corrections. If you spot an error, email info@swim2u.sg and we will check and update the page.
